“TIME TO DESTROY THE WALLS”: YSUAC STUDENTS CONFIRM

January 16, 2012 was a critical day for the students of the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction and the State Engineering University of Armenia: the ‘Berlin wall’ erected between the two universities was destroyed. The was built in 1989 and was the requirement of the time. As a matter of fact, the wall was put to separate the two universities. However, it not only did not address the visual issue but also created a serious gap between the universities in the sense that the areas were not separated equally thus creating inequality in using the areas. >>


TEACHER AWARDED WITH YSUAC MEDAL

Lida Antonyan, teacher of Manuk Abeghyan High School #3 was awarded the Gild Medal of YSUAC for her fruitful pedagogical and public activity pursuant to a decision of the University's Scientific Council.

Thanking the YSUAC administration for the appreciation and high reward of her work. Ms. Antonyan Mentioned that high school teachers overall have been ignored over the recent years; therefore, such an award is an important and necessary incentive in the difficult and complicated career of any teacher.


THE SYMBOLIC WALL SEPARATING THE TWO UNIVERSITIES IS NOW DESTROYED

Implementing the “Education without borders” concept, Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction and the Armenian State Engineering University destroyed the symbolic wall separating the two universities since 1989. Back than it was an imperative of the time to form two separate universities within the former Polytechnic Institute. The Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan attended the event. >>
