Levon Tokmajyan back from Argentina with Golden Key award

The RA Honored Artist, sculptor Levon Tomajyan participated in the international biennale entitled “20th Century: Globalization” on July 15–24 in Argentina. Mr. Tokmajyan, professor of YSUAC, was awarded the Golden Key prize. Sculptors from 50 countries participated in this contest. Levon Tokmajyan was accompanied by his son Vahe Tokmajyan who lives in Canada.

“The father and the son were representing two different countries: he – Canada and I – Armenia, said Levon Tokmajyna. Then he described the work he had done, “It’s two horses indicating powerful nations that bear on their shoulders the globalization process.” As to the junior Tokmajyan, he was rewarded as well; “The appreciation of the public” was his prize.

Levon Tokmajyan was impressed by the forum, where he was awarded also the Honorable Citizenship of Chaco, Argentina. As a sign of gratitude, the sculptor sang an nice Armenian song during the dinner organized in his honor. However, when the Mayor of Chaco suggested him to stay and work in his city. Mr. Tokmajyan had to reject in a poetic way using the only phrase he knew in Spanish: “No, gracias.”
