YSUAC students visited China

A delegation of 13 selected YSUAC students led by Head of Chair of GeoEcology Samvel Shahinyan visited the Beijing State University of Civil Engineering and Construction (BSUCEC), Beijing, People’s Republic of China on 18-28 within an students exchange program.

YSUAC students met with students and faculty of BSUCEC, visited the concrete lab of the University, the Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd’s production site and the headquarters. They also visited some of the famous Chinese architectural and cultural monuments in Beijing. As a result of a number of meetings with Chinese counterparts, an arrangement was made to ensure the ongoing cooperation between the two universities.

The YSUAC students met also with the RA Ambassador to China Armen Sargsyan. Ambassador Sargsyan presented the current state of Armenian-Chinese relations, updated on the activities of the embassy as well as told about Armenians living in China. He also shared his ideas about the upcoming renovation of the embassy building, challenging the students to ponder over a relevant renovation plan with some Armenian elements to be included. The students decided to organize a contest among the YSUAC students of architecture upon their return, which was later backed by the administration and the faculty of YSUAC.

Overall, the trip to Beijing was a great success and a valuable experience for the students.
