Armenian Enthusiasts of Education and Science exhibition-contest opened at YSUAC
An exhibition/contest of fine arts entitled “Armenian Enthusiasts of Education and Science” opened at YSUAC on December 8. The Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, Academician Jim Torosyan, RA Chief Architect Narek Sargsyan and others attended. The exhibition, dedicated to the Independence Day, was announced by the Ministry and YSUAC.
The open contest was participated by both well-known artists and sculptors and students from different universities. Overall, 45 works were presented: 30 canvases and 15 sculptures. One first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes were instituted.
Chairman of the commission Minister Ashotyan said, “The goal of the exhibition was to focus the attention of specialists and students to the prominent teachers and scientists, their lives and activities, since knowledge is a value that has been transferred from generation to generation through the enthusiasts of the Armenian art.”
The Minister mentioned also YSUAC’s achievements over the last few years in terms of renovation, equipping and especially in establishment of international links. He said, YSUAC is the leader among Armenian universities in the growth rate in the number of foreign students.
